Never fear! The extension for Safari Pipifier has your back! You can download it from the app store and just follow the instructions the app provides you. I can do PiP just fine with PiPifier app from Sarari - whether that's because I have both that app AND YT Premium I am not sure but perhaps that's the key. All I'm saying is the Youtube app itself does not do PiP for me on my iPP 12.9 gen 2 with iOS 14. There is a nice little extension you can get from the apple store. To be clear - I'm a Youtube Premium subscriber. So what do you do if this trick doesn't work on another website? Say you're trying to learn Unity a bit on Udemy. The PiPifier button will appear in the menu bar on your Safari web browser next to any other extensions you have enabled. Select this option and there you have it! PIP is enabled and you can browse the internet or do whatever you want to do! Select Preferences from the app menu dropdown.

On that second right click you should see the option "Enter Picture in Picture". You can also access Safari’s settings by opening Safari and pressing CMD +, on your keyboard. In the top left corner, click Safari in the Menu Bar. Simply right click again and you should get the menu we are looking for. Here’s how you can enable the ability to share Safari extensions from the Mac: Open Safari on your Mac. It has quite a few useful selections, but it's not what we are looking for.

The first time you do a right click you'll see the Youtube menu. All you have to do is simply right click (two finger press on track pad) and you'll see a menu like below.

It's super easy to use, but it's not entirely clear on how to get it to work if you're not use to Mac OS. It looks a lot nicer and gives you a bit more screen real estate. I like it a lot more than Windows due to it cropping out black bars automatically. That said I quickly fell in love with PIP (Picture in Picture) of Mac OS. I'm still primarly on Windows, but I needed a MacBook for IOS development.
#PIPIFIER MAC PRO#
The code is a bit dirty and there are some unused parts in it (Tried to add more features before I needed to focus on other things).I recently got a new MacBook Pro after years of being windows. If you are user and want a native PiP button in any video player please make a request in the corresponding issue Note for developers If you are a developer feel free to make any addition to improve PiPifier. Select 'Run PiPifier' on a website with a video.PiPifier lets you enable PiP regardless those limitations. There are many sites that avoids you using iOS default video controls (YouTube for example) so you can't enable PiP mode. If you have an HTML5 video playing on any website like Youtube press the share button and select the 'Run PiPifier' Action Extension If it's autoplaying just pause and play again) To use Pipifier just press the icon when you're watching to an HTML5 video (Note: You need to interact with the video once.Choose View > Customize Toolbar and drag the PiPifier icon to your toolbar.

Enable PiPifier (If you don't see PiPifier and you built the app by yourself you need to sign it or choose Developer -> Allow unsigned extensions).Make sure you did interact with the video player once before pressing (like play/pause). If you have an HTML5 video playing on any website like Youtube just press the PiPifier icon in Safari's toolbar to enable Picture-In-Picture for this video. PiPifier is a macOS 10.12 and iOS Safari (action) extension that lets you use every HTML5 video in Picture in Picture mode macOS Download
